Benjamin Otieno Ombok

Mr. Ombok received his Master of Laws (LLM 1996) degree from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom; Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law; and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B 1994) 1st Class Honours degree from the University of Nairobi. Ombok is qualified to practice as an Attorney at Law in New York and as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

Ombok’s post graduate studies focused on corporate finance, private international law (conflict of laws), intellectual property, and international trade law.

Ombok undertook articles of pupillage and worked as an advocate at Hamilton Harrison and Mathews a leading firm in Nairobi. He has lectured on business and commercial law at the United States International University and worked for international non-governmental organisations before qualifying for the New York Bar in 2000.

Otieno B. Ombok worked as a shareholding partner in the White Plains office of Jackson Lewis LLP where he advises both U.S. and foreign corporate bodies with regard to employment and immigration matters. He worked closely with employers and management to structure their immigration programs and develop long-term visa strategies for key employees.  He has undertaken major risk analysis and corporate governance advisory work for large corporations in the US.

Ombok is a frequent contributor to the CLE programmes where he trains on immigration, labour law and international corporate law.
